Keeping you off the sidelines
This condition occurs when nerves between the bones in your toes become inflamed, making it difficult to play sports and run. As a last resort, this is treated with neurectomy surgery which involves the removal of part of the nerve tissue. However, steps can be taken to improve symptoms of the condition including rest, ice packs, shoe pads and wearing adequate, spacious shoes with wide toe boxes.
Leg injuries including foot, ankle and knee
We will diagnose and treat all kinds of leg injuries, whether they are muscular, bone, ligament or any other injury. We use biomechanical assessments in order to diagnose and treat your condition so you can be back on the track or field in no time.
Sesamoiditis
Sesamoiditis is inflammation of your sesamoid bones that are in the ball of your foot. This can be caused by excessive use, particularly on the field but highly common in dancers and runners. We treat this with rest and also anti-inflammatory medication.
Turf toe and ingrown toenail
Turf toe is when your big toe joint is sprained, usually as a result of sporting activities. We recommend treating this using the RICE method (rest, ice, compression and elevation).

Ingrown toenails can be very painful and can lead to infection. We recommend treatments such as soaking your foot in warm salty water, keeping it dry for the rest of the day and wearing wide comfortable shoes. If infection has occurred we may recommend taking antibiotics.
Morton's neuroma
Once the assessment is complete, we will discuss with you how to best manage your symptoms, which may involve the fitting of bespoke orthotic footwear. These may require a short period of adjustment. We may also recommend home exercises including stretching or strengthening, and advice on the best exercises to do as well as what footwear to wear. If required, we may work with your physiotherapist or doctor, so you have the best help for your condition.
Stress fracture
Overuse and trauma can lead to a stress fracture which can keep you out of action for an extended period of time. We use physical examination and X-rays to diagnose stress fractures and may recommend a cast, rest and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines during your recovery period.
