Verrucae Treatment
Painful verrucae treated and removed
Swift pain relief
Verrucae are caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), of which there are three main types which effect the feet - singular, satellite and mosaic. Not all verrucae have black spots in, but some do. They can vary in size, depth and pain levels. Pain usually only occurs on verrucae found over a weight bearing area.
Verrucae can be contagious and so it can be important to seek attention from a qualified podiatrist in order to get the right treatment and advice. Contact us if you have any questions.
Our range of verruca treatments
There are a great multitude of over the counter treatments available. Here at Podiatry Services in Storrington, we are able to offer much stronger treatments.
Our aim is to prescribe a personalised course of treatment for each patient so you will get the best possible treatment and advice for your verruca.
Salicylic acid and silver nitrate
Salicylic acid functions by removing the dead, outer layers of your skin which triggers your immune system into removing/clearing the virus that causes your verruca. The foot is soaked in warm water and any thick skin filed away using an emery board or pumice stone.
Cryotherapy
This involves the contained, controlled destruction of the skin around the verruca, forming ice which disrupts the cell where the virus exists.
Electrosurgery
This method involves using a small probe which produces and electric burst against your verruca, drying it out. This dry tissue is then removed from your foot using a scalpel.
Dry Needling
This process involves puncturing your verruca using a sterile needle several times, with the goal of exposing the virus to the high number of immune regulators in the fatty tissue below. This then allows the immune system to destroy the virus.
